Why it is different

Softly defined, and unmistakably yours

1

The brow everyone wants now is your own

The hard, sculpted, heavily filled brow has had its decade. What replaced it is softer and far kinder: hairs brushed up and out for lift, colour only where a gap actually exists, and a shape that follows your own bone structure rather than a template someone drew on a phone. It is a relief of a trend, because the goal is a brow that looks like it grew there. This pencil is built for exactly that.

★★★★★

“This brow pencil glides on smoothly to achieve a natural, flawless look. The spoolie is an added bonus, eliminating the need for another tool in the makeup bag!”

Fine strokes are what make it believable

A brow reads as fake when it is a block of colour with a defined outline. It reads as real when it is made of individual marks going the same direction as the hairs around them. The precision wooden tip is fine enough to draw those marks, so you are adding hairs rather than painting a shape. Then the spoolie softens the whole thing so no single stroke stands out. Two ends, two halves of one technique.

★★★★★

“Colour was spot on for me and I love the brush end. Gives fine strokes.”

3

Soft enough to sit among your own hairs

Sunflower seed oil, coconut oil and carnauba wax give it a glide most brow pencils simply do not have. Nothing scratches, nothing skips over a bare patch, and the colour blends into your existing hairs instead of sitting on the skin between them. It stays put through heat and humidity, which for an Australian summer is no small ask. Three shades, and my honest advice is to go one step lighter than you think.

★★★★★

“I bought the medium brown, perfect colour for me! The pencil is softer than some that I have used, therefore it is easier to apply and blend amongst my eyebrow hairs.”

The ritual

How to get the soft full brow

01

Brush everything upward first

Before any colour goes near them, sweep the spoolie up and out through both brows. Two things happen: you get the lifted, fluffy shape straight away, and you can finally see where the actual gaps are rather than guessing.

02

Short strokes, in the direction the hairs grow

Flick upward and outward with the fine tip, one small mark at a time, only where you can see skin. Resist the urge to outline, because the outline is what gives a drawn on brow away every time.

03

Go lighter at the front

The inner third nearest your nose wants the least colour of anywhere. Keep it soft and let the depth build toward the arch and the tail. A dark solid brow head is the single most ageing thing you can do to a face.

04

Brush through again to finish

One last pass with the spoolie blends every stroke into the hairs around it and takes away any hard edges. Three seconds, and it is what separates a brow that looks done from a brow that looks drawn.

Questions

Anything you are wondering

Which shade should I choose?

Go one step lighter than your hair rather than matching it. A slightly lighter brow always looks softer and more natural, and you can build from there. Soft Blonde suits natural and ash blondes and light browns. Medium Brown covers most mid brunettes. Dark Brown is for dark brunettes and black hair. Send me a daylight photo of your brows and I will tell you which one.

Does it need sharpening?

Yes, and fairly often, because it is soft. That softness is what gives you the glide and the blending instead of scratching, and most customers decide very quickly it is a trade worth making. A light sharpen keeps the tip fine enough for hair strokes, and our 2 in 1 sharpener has the right size.

Pencil or powder, which do I need?

Different jobs, and the current technique uses both. Powder builds soft density across the whole brow so it looks fuller, with no hard edges. The pencil draws individual hair strokes into the gaps where hairs are genuinely missing. Powder first, pencil second, spoolie through to finish. If you can only have one, choose the pencil for sparse brows and the powder for brows that are full but pale.

Will it really stay on all day?

Yes, it is a genuinely waterproof formula and that is the reason to own it. It holds through heat, humidity, swimming and the kind of day where you forget you are wearing makeup. Take it off with an oil cleanser or micellar water at night.

Is it vegan?

There is beeswax in this one, which is part of what makes it both soft and waterproof, so it is cruelty free, gluten free and paraben free but not vegan. Our Pressed Brow Powder is fully vegan if that is what you need.

My brows are very sparse. Will this be enough?

For most women, yes, particularly with the powder underneath to build a soft base first. Technique matters more than product here: many small strokes going the way the hairs grow will always look better than fewer heavy ones, however little you are starting with.

Where is it made?

We are Australian owned and run, and our pencils are manufactured to our formulation overseas. Every order is packed and posted by us from our studio here.

Shipping and returns within Australia?

$9.95 standard, free on orders $99 and above, express $15. Packed and posted by us from our studio here. Returns are for damaged or faulty items, reported within 5 days, so do ask me about shade first if you are unsure.

Need a hand?

Send me a photo of your brows in daylight and I will tell you which shade to order. I read and answer these myself, and I am always happy to help.
