Apply with a dense kabuki brush or sponge, pressing gently into the skin rather than sweeping. Build coverage gradually, focusing on areas that need a little more. Reapply during the day if you would like.
For shade help, send us a selfie in daylight for free Virtual Colour Matching, or order a $3 Mineral Foundation Powder sample in your shade number. The loose powder uses the same shade numbering as this compact, so it will show you the colour on your own skin before you commit.

See it on real skin
This is the part a photograph cannot show you. Watch the coverage build where you press it, see how it stays looking like skin the whole way up, and how much of you is still you underneath.
Three ways to be certain of your shade before you order, and two of them are free.
Daylight, a bare face, and please include your jaw and neck. I will look at it myself and tell you which shade to order, or that you are sitting between two. Usually back within a day, and it costs you nothing.
Send me your selfie
Sixty seconds on depth, undertone and the coverage you like. It names your shade and tells you why. Free.
Take the quiz
The loose powder is matched to the same shade numbers as the compact, so a $3 sample in your number shows you the colour on your own face before you commit. The finish differs, the shade does not.

Press it on lightly and it evens you out while still looking like your own skin. Keep building in thin layers and it will properly cover redness, pigmentation or scarring, exactly where you want it. Speaking from years of wearing it, most people stop after one pass. Keep going and it never turns into a mask.
I adore the Alluring Pressed Mineral foundation. It covers superbly, yet feels light on the skin. This is my second time purchasing.

This is the one I reach for on normal to oily skin. The minerals absorb excess oil through the day rather than sitting on top of it, so you are not blotting by lunchtime.
This is the first foundation that has lasted all day. I have oily skin and normally I get shine by mid afternoon, so it is incredible to find one that does not.

This is the real reason the compact exists. Do your base at home, then slip it in your bag. Being able to press over a shiny t-zone at three o'clock, in a car mirror, without needing a brush or a jar or a flat surface, is quietly the most useful thing in my handbag.
Very good product, very natural look and ideal for day wear and not too heavy. Have been using well before the Covid.

Four of these do most of the work. The one worth knowing about is corn starch, which is what absorbs oil through the day, in place of the talc most pressed powders lean on.
Absorbs
The reason shine stays down all day, in place of the talc most compacts lean on.
Calms
A gentle mineral barrier between your face and the day.
Glides
What lets it press on smoothly instead of dragging or grabbing.
Protects
Natural tocopherol, for antioxidant cover while you wear it.
Pressing rather than sweeping is the difference between a finish you love and one you do not. It is a small change and it matters more than anything else here.
Press a dense kabuki or a sponge into the compact. A little lifts far more than you expect, so start smaller than feels right.
This is the whole trick. Pressing is what builds coverage and makes it last, where sweeping just moves it around and takes half of it off again.
Thin layer, then another. Redness, pigmentation or a scar can take a second or third pass while the rest of your face keeps the first. That is how you get full coverage that still looks like skin.
Press over any shine during the day whenever you feel like it. No mirror gymnastics required.
Whatever you want it to. Press it on lightly and you still look like you, just evened out. Keep building in thin layers and it will cover redness, pigmentation and scarring properly. Most people stop after the first pass, so do keep going. It stays looking like skin the whole way up.
Send me a selfie in daylight with a bare face, including your jaw and neck, and I will tell you which shade to order, usually within a day. Or take the quiz, which takes about a minute. And if you like to see a colour on your own face first, the Mineral Foundation Powder uses the same shade numbers as this compact, so a $3 powder sample in your number will show you the colour properly. The one exception is Deep Brown 24.5, where the closest loose powder is Dark 24, so write to me for that one and I will guide you.
It matters more than anything else on this page. Pressing packs the minerals onto your skin so they build and stay put. Sweeping drags half of it back off and leaves the finish patchy. Press, and this product will show you what it can do.
Please check with your doctor first, and I mean that sincerely. The compact contains Ethyl Macadamiate, an ester derived from macadamia oil. Highly refined esters like this are chemically quite different from the raw nut oil and are generally considered low risk, but a nut allergy is not something I would ever make a call on for you. The full ingredient list is in the Ingredients tab above if you would like to take it along. If you would rather not think about it at all, our Loose Mineral Foundation Powder has nothing nut derived in it.
No. The oil absorbing job that talc usually does in a pressed powder is done here by corn starch instead, with zinc stearate for the press and jojoba esters for slip. You can read the whole list in the Ingredients tab above.
All three build from sheer to full, so it comes down to finish and how you live. Pressed presses in, controls oil and travels, so it suits normal to oily skin and anyone who wants a base in their handbag. Loose powder is airier with SPF 20+ built in, and shares its shade numbers with this one. Liquid is the dewiest and suits drier or more mature skin. Plenty of our customers keep a liquid on the dresser and a compact in the bag.
The compact carries no SPF rating. Wear your usual sunscreen underneath it, as you would with any base. If you would like sun protection built in, our Mineral Foundation Powder has SPF 20+.
Press it in rather than sweeping, and build in thin layers, and it will not. It is formulated not to crease or slide the way heavier compacts do.
This is the skin we formulate for, and it is gentle enough for everyday wear. As with anything new, patch test first if you are in the middle of a flare, and do write to me if you would like to talk it through before you buy.
