There are a dozen vitamin C derivatives on the market that are easier to formulate with and cheaper to buy. We use L-ascorbic acid, the pure form every piece of meaningful research is built on, the one your skin can use without converting it first. Ten per cent sits squarely in the effective range and is far kinder than the fifteen and twenty per cent formulas that leave sensitive skin stinging. Enough to work, gentle enough to use every single morning.
★★★★★“My skin is clearer and brighter. I have brown patches and I can see them fading already after one week.”

Sunscreen is a shield. Vitamin C is the clean up crew. It is a powerful antioxidant, which means it neutralises the free radicals that sun, pollution and everyday city air generate in your skin, the ones that quietly cause dullness and dark patches over years. Worn under SPF each morning the two do different jobs and the result is better than either alone. It also supports your skin's own firmness, which is the long game every one of us is playing.
★★★★★“Beautiful product, love the way it makes my skin feel so good. 10 out of 10. Fast, very friendly service.”

Kakadu plum holds the highest natural vitamin C content of any fruit in the world, and it grows wild across northern Australia. Alongside it we use Davidson's plum, lilli pilli and desert lime, all native, all antioxidant rich, all evolved under a sun that is unkind to everything. They sit in a base of organic aloe vera gel rather than plain water, which is why a serum this active still feels calm on the skin. It seemed right to make an Australian brightening serum out of Australian plants.
Vitamin C is a daytime ingredient because its antioxidant protection is worth the most when your skin is out in the world. Cleanse, then apply before anything else goes on.
Press over the face and neck with your fingertips. It is silk light and absorbs quickly. If you have dark patches on your cheeks or temples, give them a second pass.
Let it settle for a moment, then your moisturiser, then SPF. Vitamin C and sunscreen worn together is one of the most well established combinations in skincare, and it is where the visible brightening comes from.
Pure vitamin C is a lively ingredient and it does not love heat or sunlight. A bathroom cupboard is perfect, a sunny windowsill is not. Treated well it will stay potent right through the bottle.
Yes. The effective range for L-ascorbic acid starts around eight per cent, and going higher does not keep improving results in a straight line, it mostly buys you more sting. Ten per cent of the pure form gives you the brightening and antioxidant benefit at a strength you can wear every morning without complaint, and wearing it every morning is what actually delivers the change.
The glow tends to arrive early, and some of my customers mention it inside a week or two. Dark patches and uneven tone are a slower shift, generally over four to eight weeks of consistent morning use. It rewards showing up every day far more than it rewards using more.
Yes, and it is worth understanding. Pure vitamin C reacts with air and light over time and a gradual deepening in colour is simply that happening. A slight change in shade is nothing to worry about. Keep the bottle somewhere cool and out of direct sun, close it properly, and use it within a few months of opening and it will stay lovely.
Both, happily. The idea that vitamin C and niacinamide cancel each other out came from laboratory conditions rather than real faces and has been well and truly revisited. As for vitamin A, the simplest and best routine is vitamin C in the morning and vitamin A at night: protection by day, renewal by night.
Most women find it does not, and the aloe vera base is a big part of why. It is the first ingredient in the formula rather than an afterthought. If your skin is very reactive, start every second morning and build up. A brief tingle on the first few uses is common and settles.
No added synthetic fragrance. The soft scent comes from the organic lavender and lemon peel oils, which sit at a very low level. This is a morning serum worn under sunscreen, which is the right habit with any citrus botanical anyway. If you know citrus oils bother your skin, patch test along your jawline first.
Vitamin C is not on the standard avoid lists and many women continue with it, but I am not able to give medical advice, so do show the ingredient list to your GP or midwife. The one product I ask you to set aside while pregnant or breastfeeding is the Enriching Vitamin A Serum, and this serum is the natural thing to use in its place.
Yes. It is silk light and absorbs fully, so nothing pills. Let it settle, then moisturiser and SPF, then your base.
