A bottle top swatch tells you almost nothing
Foundation changes once it has been on your skin for an hour. It settles, it warms up, it finds its level. The only honest test is wearing it, which is exactly what a sample lets you do for three dollars.

Order more than one
Almost nobody gets it right from a screen, and there is no shame in that. Pick the shade you think is yours and the one either side of it, wear them on different days, and the answer becomes obvious. Three samples is nine dollars and it removes the guesswork entirely.

It is the same formula, exactly
Not a trial version and not an older batch. Aloe, shea butter, squalane and vitamin E, the same as the full size, from the same batch. So what you learn from the sample is precisely what you will get in the bottle.

Test on your jawline
Not your hand or your wrist. Your jaw is where the foundation has to disappear into your neck, and that join is what everyone else sees.

Go to a window
Bathroom lighting lies. Daylight is the only light that tells you the truth about undertone.

Wait ten minutes
Give it time to settle before you judge it. Most shades look slightly too light for the first few minutes.

Wear it for a day
The right shade is the one you forget you are wearing by the afternoon. That is the whole test, and it is a lovely feeling when you find it.

How much is actually in a sample?
Enough for one or two full face applications, depending on how much coverage you like. That is deliberately enough to wear it out properly for a day rather than just dab it on your hand.
How many shades should I order?
Two or three. Pick the one you think is yours and the shade either side of it. Nearly everyone is surprised by which one wins, and at $3 each it is a very cheap way to be certain.
Is it the same formula as the full size?
Identical. Same batch, same ingredients, just decanted into a smaller pot. What you learn from the sample is exactly what you will get in the bottle.
Why is there no tracking?
Samples go by standard post, which is how we keep them at $3, since tracking costs more than the sample does. If you would rather have it, choose an upgraded shipping option at checkout and we will send it tracked.
The shade I want is sold out. What now?
Leave your email on that shade and I will tell you the moment it is back. In the meantime, take the Shade Finder Quiz or send me a selfie and I will tell you honestly whether one of the shades in stock would suit you.
What if none of them are quite right?
Then tell me. Send a photo in daylight with the samples swatched on your jaw and I will look at it properly. Sometimes the answer is a different formula rather than a different shade, and I would rather work that out with you than have you keep guessing.
How long does delivery take?
Standard post within Australia, so allow a little longer than a tracked parcel, particularly outside the capital cities. Everything is packed and posted by us from our studio.
