A note on wear time: because we use natural waxes and oils instead of synthetic film-formers, our mineral lipstick will not cling to your lips for eight hours the way a chemical long-wear formula will. You will want to reapply after a meal or a coffee. What you get in exchange is a beautifully soft finish and something you can happily wear knowing what is on your lips.
A note on beeswax: this lipstick contains beeswax, which is what gives it the creamy texture and the way it holds together in the bullet. That means it is cruelty-free but not vegan, and we would rather tell you plainly than let you find out from the ingredient list.

How to wear it

Start on smooth lips
A quick buff with a damp flannel is all it takes, and it makes the colour sit beautifully evenly.

Apply from the centre out
Sweep it on straight from the stick, working outwards. For a softer wash of colour, press it on with a fingertip instead and it sheers out beautifully.

Blot once
Press a tissue between your lips. It lifts the surface layer and leaves behind the colour that really stays put.

Freshen after lunch
Five seconds and you are done. Keep it in your bag and you will find you reach for it out of pleasure rather than necessity.

Which shade will suit me?
Start with the family. The four nudes are your everyday, the pinks lift your whole face, the reds and plum are lovely for evening, and Honey Bunch is beautiful on warmer colouring. If you would like a personal recommendation, send me a selfie in daylight with bare lips and I will pick two or three that will suit you. I do this myself and I love doing it.
What if I am torn between two shades?
Tell me which two and I will give you an honest opinion, usually the same day. Nine times out of ten there is a clear winner for your colouring. And if you love both, the nudes and pinks layer beautifully over one another, so neither goes to waste.
Will it dry my lips out?
It does the opposite, and that is the whole reason we made it. Castor and olive oils carry the pigment, cupuaçu seed butter and sweet almond oil soften, and vitamin E sits alongside them. Most women tell me they stop needing a balm underneath.
How long does it last?
Through the morning comfortably, and you will want to freshen it after a meal or a coffee. That is the natural wax and oil base doing its job. It conditions your lips rather than gripping them, which is why they still feel soft at the end of the day. Reapplying takes about five seconds.
Is it heavily pigmented or sheer?
Real colour from the first pass, and buildable to full with a second. If you want it sheerer, press it on with a fingertip rather than applying straight from the stick and you get a lovely soft stain.
Does it contain nuts?
Yes, and please do read this one. Sweet almond oil is in every shade, so it is not suitable if you have a nut allergy. Email me and I will point you to the lip products in our range that will suit you instead, and I am happy to send the full ingredient list if you would like to check it with your doctor.
Is it vegan?
Our lipstick contains beeswax, which is what gives it that creamy texture and keeps the bullet firm and the colour true. It is cruelty free and always has been, but it is not vegan. If vegan matters to you, our Organic Lip Gloss is made with carnauba wax instead and has no beeswax in it at all.
