Description

Mattifying primer smooths pores, controls shine, and extends makeup wear with lightweight, hydrating gel for flawless application.♥

Smooth, Shine-Controlled Base for Long-Lasting Makeup

Create the perfect canvas for makeup with our Mattifying Primer, a feather-light gel designed to smooth skin texture, minimise pores, and help control shine throughout the day.

Infused with Grapefruit and Witch Hazel, this lightweight formula helps absorb excess oil while maintaining comfortable hydration, ensuring skin feels balanced rather than dry.

By refining the look of pores and fine lines, this primer allows foundation to glide on seamlessly and remain fresh, smooth, and smudge-resistant for longer wear.

The result is a soft-focus, shine-controlled finish that supports flawless makeup application from morning through evening.

Why it is different

The step that makes everything else work

1

Mattifying, without the tight feeling that usually comes with it

Most mattifying products work by drying you out, which is why skin so often produces even more oil by the afternoon. This one absorbs the excess with witch hazel and grapefruit while rose distillate, glycerin and squalane keep the skin underneath comfortable. Shine goes, hydration stays, and your face still feels like your face at three o'clock.

2

A water gel, not a silicone slip

Almost every primer on the shelf is built on silicone. It feels lovely for an hour, then your foundation starts sliding on top of it, and for some skin it is exactly what causes congestion. There are no silicones in here at all. This is a light water gel that softens texture and gives your base something to hold onto, which is what a primer is actually for.

3

Mineral makeup especially loves it

Mineral foundation looks its best on skin that is smooth and evenly hydrated, because pigment clings to dry patches and slips off shiny ones. Smoothing the canvas first is the difference between foundation that looks applied and foundation that looks like your own skin. It is the one step most women are missing, and it costs you sixty seconds.

What is in it

The ritual

How to use it

01

Moisturise first, and let it settle

Primer goes on after your moisturiser rather than instead of it. Give the moisturiser a couple of minutes so the two are not competing.

02

A pea sized amount is plenty

Concentrate it where you actually need it, usually the T zone, around the nose and anywhere pores are more visible. There is no need to cover your whole face.

03

Press it in rather than rubbing

Smoothing it in with light pressure helps it settle into the texture you are trying to soften, instead of gliding over the top of it.

04

Wait a minute before foundation

This is the step everyone skips. Foundation over a primer that is still wet will move around on you. One minute is genuinely all it takes.

Questions

Anything you are wondering

What difference will a primer actually make?

It is the step that changes how your foundation looks and how long it stays put. If your base tends to separate around the nose, cling to dry patches or fade by the afternoon, a primer sorts all three at once. Most women who add this one tell me their foundation suddenly started behaving.

Will a primer clog my pores?

That reputation comes from silicones, which sit on the surface as a film and do not suit everybody. There are none in here. It is a water based gel with rose distillate, witch hazel and squalane, so it smooths and mattifies without laying a barrier over your skin.

My skin is dry. Is a mattifying primer right for me?

It can be, because this one hydrates while it mattifies rather than simply drying you out. If your skin runs very dry, use it only where you get shine, usually the T zone, and skip your cheeks. Primer does not have to be all or nothing.

How long will it hold shine back?

Through a normal day for most people, and noticeably longer than bare skin under foundation in heat or humidity. If you are very oily, pair it with our Mineral Foundation Powder or Setting Powder and you will get further again.

Does it work with mineral foundation?

It is exactly what I made it for. Mineral pigment needs a smooth, evenly hydrated surface, otherwise it grips dry patches and slides off shiny ones. This gives it something even to sit on.

Where does it go in my routine?

Cleanse, treat, moisturise, then primer, then foundation. Give the moisturiser two minutes and the primer one, and everything sits properly on top of everything else.

Where is it made?

Australia, to professional grade standards and in small batches. It is vegan, cruelty free and gluten free, and every order is packed and posted by us from our studio.

Shipping and returns within Australia?

$9.95 standard, free on orders $99 and above, express $15. Packed and posted by us from our studio here. Returns are for damaged or faulty items, reported within 5 days.
